Blushed and Co. held it’s first of many makeup classes December 15, 2018. It was small intimate class setting with just a few attendees, but it was the beginning of what is to come for us. This was an invite only class, some didn’t show as planned, but it was nice to have those who did come to learn.
Each person in attendance received a goodie bag and raffled off door prizes. No one left emptied handed or without new information.
The class consisted of a live demo of a full face makeup application. All attendees had to follow along at their own pace to complete a full look. We discussed brow enhancement, eye shadow placement, highlighting and contouring, and of course eyeliner. Each woman in attendance received a take home manual full of information ranging from skin care to application and product/tool supply list.
As an artist, this is my first time I’ve held my own class. It’s not my first time teaching a class centered around makeup application, but this was milestone/first. I never thought that education would be ignited within my life. My mother was a school teacher, my aunts were school teachers, my sister is now a school teacher, and I have worked as a Substitute Teacher. I wanted to avoid being a teacher it just wasn’t going to be my thing. I have been in classrooms all around the county to teach small children, the education gene has been activated. If you told me that I would be hosting my own personal class where I was the teacher I would have laughed at you. Although it has been something that I’ve always wanted to do, it just seemed like and unattainable goal.
After finally having my first class, I’m ready to host more classes and offer other services regarding beauty education.
